Primitives are mixed media on hardboard, wood or other sub straight other than canvas or canvas board. They are typically whimsical in nature for the fun at heart and make great Kitch works for home or business decorating. 

Pieces done when first learning painting. Often Ed would look at other artist's work and attempt to recreate their paintings. This is what helped him learn and become a better painter.
